Bandana Girl Created AN AMAZING LIFE

Woman with glasses and wavy blonde hair.

I’m a Wisconsin Great Lakes girl who became a fierce downhill skier, mastering some of the most extreme Black Diamond runs across America’s highest mountains.

In my 30s and 40s, I traveled more than one million miles across the country, sometimes on the back of a Harley, most often in a big truck.

Along the way, I ran from the “Finger of God” tornado at our Oklahoma ranch (“We’ve got cows!”), rode out the Northridge earthquake, found myself surrounded by Southern California wildfires, watched fireballs fall across the Arizona desert, and touched the Northern Lights every chance I got.

I became a paramedic in my early twenties and later found myself on the frontier of pharmacogenomics testing as a Founder and Vice President of ProPGX Inc. In 2025, another chapter began when I became Co-Founder and Head of Development at RecoverIQ.app.

Life has taken me down some extraordinary roads, and I wouldn’t trade the journey

ALL THE STARS WERE ALIGNED

Person raising arms looking at sunset over mountains and ocean.

In 1990, my first screenplay, Timeless Vision, traveled like a magic carpet from my hands in Wisconsin through a remarkable chain of people until it landed directly in the hands of the late Gary David Goldberg of UBU Productions, Family Ties, and Spin City.

A few months later, Gary called me from Hawaii. We talked for two hours. He told me Timeless Vision was “one of the best first drafts” he had ever read and that I had a particular eye for camera direction. He wanted to meet when he returned.

I was a 32-year-old single mom who suddenly felt as though she were sitting on the moon.

All the stars were aligned.

Then life happened.

That is an excellent story for another time, but one thing I know for certain: I have no regrets.

Decades later, I am still writing. My stories can begin with something as simple as a word, a phrase, a title, an image, or a lyric. I see something inside it, expand it, and discover the story waiting there.

In the Spring of 2023, I met with an award-winning Hollywood producer/director. She had read over my body of work and asked what I ultimately envisioned for my screenplays; my answer was simple:

“Success for me would be making a movie that touches all of your senses and gives you an everlasting memory that forever stays in your heart and mind.”

That is still what I want.

To create.

AND THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO COME!

AND THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO COME!

Hand drawing the word CREATE with a pencil.

Life, however, was still writing its own screenplay.

After 32 years of marriage and then experiencing the loss of my husband, I was blessed to find love again and marry Patrick L. Pellett, an academic scholar and published writer.

Today, we spend our days at facing desks, each doing what we love most: creating. Between the words and ideas, there is often romantic music playing in the background, a blown kiss and a wink across the room, and every now and then, Patrick gets up, takes my hand, and twirls me around the room.

What a life.

I have traveled, dreamed, created, loved, lost, and loved again. And somehow, through all those miles and all those unexpected turns, I find myself here: still dreaming, still creating, still writing, and still wondering what might be waiting around the next corner.

And the best part?

There is so much more to come.
